Cookie Policy

A straightforward explanation of the cookies TowManVan uses, what they do, and how you can manage your preferences.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They allow the website to recognise your device on your next visit and remember certain preferences or session information. Cookies cannot execute code or carry viruses.

Alongside cookies, we may use similar local storage technologies (such as sessionStorage and localStorage in your browser) for the same essential session purposes. This policy covers both.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically choose to block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or delete existing cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may impair the functionality of the website (for example, you may not be able to stay logged in).

Instructions for the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari (Mac): Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Safari (iPhone/iPad): Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security → Block All Cookies
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

You can also visit allaboutcookies.org for independent guidance on managing cookies across browsers and devices.

Opting Out of Google Analytics

To prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your browsing on any website that uses it, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer). This add-on instructs the Google Analytics JavaScript to prohibit sending data to Google servers.

Do Not Track

Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) header. TowManVan does not currently respond automatically to DNT signals, but you can achieve the same result by managing your cookies directly as described above.

Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or embedded content (for example, app store badges linking to Apple App Store or Google Play Store). These third parties have their own cookie and privacy policies over which TowManVan has no control. We recommend reviewing the relevant policies before clicking through.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time - for example, if we change the analytics tools we use or if legislation changes. We will notify you of material changes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The current version of this Cookie Policy is always available at towmanvan.co.uk/legal/cookies.
