The arithmetic is simple: £12/hr extra against loading time that roughly halves. A one-person 2-bed move running 4.5 hours becomes a 3-hour two-person job - £171 versus £157 solo, for a move finished 90 minutes sooner and with zero single-person lifts of things that should never be single-person lifts. On anything bigger than a studio, take the crew.
Safety is the quiet feature
Most moving-day damage - cracked plaster, gouged bannisters, strained backs - happens when one person attempts a two-person item. Trained pairs lift with straps and communicate the carry. The £12/hr is partly speed and partly an insurance policy written in common sense.
