HA4 covers Ruislip in all its versions: the old village High Street, the Manor and Gardens estates, South Ruislip with its trade units, and the A40 running the southern edge. Nothing costs less than £49, and the applicable figure is displayed in advance. Jump starts, lockout help, fuel, roadside tyre work and flatbed lifting, at every hour, with no policy behind it.
HA4 has a floor of £49, with the applicable figure displayed well in advance. Arrival is targeted at 22 minutes for the village, Ruislip Manor, Ruislip Gardens and South Ruislip. Approaches come in along West End Road or Victoria Road rather than out from central London. The call-out is free of charge, no policy is sold, and 3am near the Lido matches 3pm to the penny.

Fixed upfront prices. No membership fees. Live operator tracking across every postcode in London.
Cars left at the station all week in winter go flat. Boost, then charging output read.
Kerbing on the narrow village streets splits sidewalls. Replaced where you are.
Keys shut in at the Lido car park or a Manor drive. Opened without a mark.
Empty on West End Road, or the wrong nozzle nearby. Drained and refilled on site.
Diagnosed properly before any tow is booked. Many HA4 calls end there.
The A40 runs the southern edge of HA4 at speed, with the Polish War Memorial junction handling a great deal of turning traffic. Slip roads are short and the hard shoulder is intermittent. A car that fails on the dual carriageway is not a place to sit and think: everyone out, behind the barrier, well back. The operator arrives on the correct carriageway and works from the nearside with beacons running.
West End Road carries HA4 down towards South Ruislip past trade units, workshops and yards, with the road narrowing and widening as it goes. Lorry movements in and out of the units make the kerb line unreliable. A car that has stopped there is moved before it is examined, because standing beside a live lane while a truck turns into a gateway is not sensible for anybody.
Ruislip High Street keeps a genuine village layout: a narrow carriageway, short bays, listed frontages and a good deal of pedestrian crossing between shops. A flatbed will fit, but it will block the street while it works. The realistic move is to bring the casualty out to a wider road behind the parade and load it there, which takes longer to describe than it takes to do.
The Lido and the woodland north of the village bring in gravel car parks, unmade lanes and verges that soften after rain, especially in the autumn. Cars parked on grass in dry weather can be well and truly stuck by the evening. Recovery there starts with traction boards rather than a ramp, and a winch line to firm ground before anything is lifted onto the bed.
Ruislip Manor is built around Victoria Road with a compact parade, flats above the shops and residential streets running away in a regular pattern. Parking is controlled close to the station and free a few streets out, which concentrates the pressure. There is room to work on the main road with cones down, and less than there appears once you turn into the residential grid behind it.
RAF Northolt sits on the southern boundary and its perimeter roads carry service traffic with limited stopping and, in places, no stopping at all. This is not ground for a leisurely roadside diagnosis. A vehicle that has failed there is lifted and moved first, with the fault dealt with somewhere it is legal to stand still. Access to anything inside the wire is a matter for the station.
Ruislip Gardens sits on lower ground towards the river and the roads crossing it dip noticeably. After heavy rain those dips hold water, and drivers regularly underestimate how deep. A car that has stalled in standing water needs to stay switched off, because the next attempt to start it is what does the expensive damage. The recovery is a lift straight to a workshop rather than a boost.
The station car parks across HA4 fill with cars that will not move again until Friday, which in cold weather is a reliable source of dead batteries. Long-stay bays are usually accessible to a flatbed, but decks with a barrier are not. Send the level and the bay number and note whether there is a height limit, and the operator will bring what the job actually needs.
The 1930s semis that make up most of Ruislip come with longer front drives than most of London manages and, in many streets, a rear alley to the garages. That extra length is a real advantage: there is usually room to bring the car out under control without troubling the neighbours. Where a garage sits at the back, the car still comes to the street before a ramp is lowered.
