Sofas & Armchairs
The classic single-item job. Two-seaters travel solo with the driver; corner units and recliner sofas should add the £12/hr second helper for the carry.
Beds & Mattresses
Mattresses, divans and disassembled frames - blanketed and strapped upright so they arrive clean. The driver helps get them up the stairs at the far end.
Appliances
Washing machines, dishwashers, fridge freezers (transported upright, ready to settle before switch-on). Drivers carry a sack truck rated for white goods.
Marketplace & Auction Pickups
eBay, Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace, auction rooms: send the driver with the collection reference and pay only the van time. No more 'collection only' bargains slipping away.

The gap between parcels and removals
Parcel firms stop around 30kg and a metre. Removal firms want a whole house. The single bulky item - the sofa, the fridge, the wardrobe - falls in the gap, which is why 'collection only' listings sell for less. A man and van by the hour is the tool built for that gap: about £70 covers a cross-town delivery, loaded and unloaded.

You book the job and share the pickup details; the seller hands the item over and you track the van to your door. No taking an afternoon off to sit in someone else's hallway. For private sales, in-app chat keeps the driver, you and the collection address coordinated.

Once a job is accepted you see the driver's name, vehicle and live position on the map, with an arrival time that updates as they travel.
Every operator is DBS checked, insured for hire and reward, and rated after each job. Prices are fixed before dispatch, never quoted as a range.
