Nottingham runs trams through its streets, squeezes traffic past bus gates in the core and drops steeply from Mapperley to the Trent. TowManVan covers the lot, from the packed student terraces of Lenton and Radford to the Clifton estate, Beeston and the M1 junctions, at a rate settled in the app before anyone sets off.
Nottingham coverage in the TowManVan app runs from NG1 in the Lace Market and NG2 over West Bridgford and the Meadows, through NG3 to NG6 at Mapperley, Carlton, Sherwood and Bulwell, NG7 to NG9 across Lenton, Wollaton and Beeston, out to NG11 Clifton and NG15 Hucknall. Seven set prices, £49 upwards. Half an hour or less is the arrival target.

Not a sound on a Lenton student street, or in a Beeston side road. An operator jumps it, then puts a meter on the battery so the cause is not a mystery.
Rim caught beside a tram rail, or a tyre destroyed on the A52. The spare from your boot is fitted at the spot, a puncture worth saving gets saved, pressures put back right.
Keys shut in on a shopping centre deck, or on a Clifton estate road. The lock stays whole, the glass stays whole, the paint stays clean. Every hour, every day.
Tank empty on Mansfield Road, or the wrong grade in near the ring road. The right fuel is carried to you, and a wrongly filled tank is emptied and rinsed through.
Cut-out on Clifton Boulevard, or a warning light on the ring road. An operator reads the codes, repairs what can be repaired at the kerb, and lifts the rest.
The motorway sits west of the city with Junction 25 feeding the A52 towards Derby and the city, and Junction 26 linking the A610 in through Nuthall. Both sliproads carry heavy commuter volume and fill quickly at peak. On the motorway itself hard shoulder makes loading simple, but the carriageway decides everything, since the next place to turn round is a long way off in either direction.
Tram rails share the road with general traffic on several corridors here, and overhead lines run above them for the whole length. A flatbed cannot raise its bed under live wires, and a stopped car beside the rails must be cleared before it blocks a service. Both facts push the loading point onto a side street, which is where an operator will take your vehicle before doing anything else.
The river cuts across the southern side and the crossings concentrate traffic onto a handful of bridges, so an incident on one affects the others immediately. Low ground in the Meadows and along the riverside takes water when the Trent rises, and the sports grounds either side of the river fill the surrounding streets on event days. Route choice out here depends on what is genuinely open.
The belt west of the centre is dense terraced housing turned over almost entirely to shared student lets, which puts several cars where one house was designed for none. Both kerbs stay full through term and usable width falls to a single lane. Cars left standing for weeks on end are the usual no-starts, and loading happens at a junction rather than outside the door.
West of the castle sits a private estate of curving roads and gated entrances where access is controlled rather than public. North and east of the centre the ground rises hard towards Mapperley and Sherwood, and a flatbed bed cannot be lowered level on those gradients. Loading is therefore done on flat ground at the top or bottom of a hill with skates used for the move.
The eastern side is built on soft sandstone, honeycombed with cellars and caves and cut by short, steep streets. Redeveloped estate housing here is laid out as loops and cul-de-sacs with communal parking rather than driveways, so the vehicle and the address rarely match. A location pin, a colour and a registration get an operator to the right vehicle much faster than a street name.
Clifton counts among the biggest estates anywhere in Britain, drawn as sweeping crescents and closes fed by only a handful of distributor roads, with the tram terminating there. Swinging a loaded flatbed round inside a close is the slow bit of any job there, so the loading point is chosen out on the distributor and the car brought to it on skates instead. Wilford and Silverdale nearby follow much the same pattern of long looping crescents.
West of the city the pattern shifts to interwar semis on short driveways, newer closes and a busy high street with loading restrictions. Driveway extraction is the everyday work here rather than roadside repair, since most cars fail exactly where they were parked. The tram terminus and its park and ride add a steady run of vehicles that have sat unused all day in an open bay.
Nottingham charges employers for workplace parking places, which has pushed a lot of commuter cars onto residential streets and into barriered private car parks. Neither is helpful for recovery: street parking spreads cars away from the address they belong to, and entry bars hang far lower than a laden flatbed will pass beneath. In both situations the car is skated clear to somewhere the truck can safely stand.
