Brighton and Hove recovery for streets that fight back: Hanover gradients with permit bays on both sides, the A23 funnel down through Patcham, seafront closures on Madeira Drive, height bars on every Marina deck and student cars in Moulsecoomb that have not moved since October. Seven jobs beginning at £49, priced on screen first, spanning BN1 to BN3, BN41 and out to Lewes.

Nothing when you turn the key at Churchill Square or in a Hanover permit bay? Boost delivered to the car with a clear verdict on how much life the battery has left.
Sidewall gone on the A27, or a rim kerbed on a Hove one-way? Wheel changed where you stopped, spare inspected and pressures set correctly.
Keys locked in at the Marina, the station car park or a North Laine loading bay? Non-destructive entry, twenty-four hours a day.
Empty on the Preston Road climb, or misfuelled at a seafront forecourt? Correct fuel brought over and the wrong fuel drained before damage spreads.
Cutting out on Lewes Road or the Old Shoreham Road? Diagnostics run at the kerb, roadside fixes attempted first, a tow to your garage if the fault is bigger.
Everything arriving from London narrows at Patcham, where the A23 drops off the Downs and becomes Preston Road before running down into the city. It is the only fast route in, so one stoppage on the approach reaches the whole of Brighton within minutes. Crews check which side of the interchange a casualty sits on, because crossing from one carriageway to the other at the wrong point costs more time than the recovery itself.
The terraced grid climbing from Queen's Park towards Elm Grove is among the steepest residential areas on the south coast, with narrow one-ways, permit bays on both sides and slopes that punish worn clutches and tired handbrakes. Loading is a deliberate business here: the truck squares up at the flatter end, the car is winched with its wheels held straight, and neighbours are usually asked for a few feet of room.
The A27 runs along the foot of the Downs from Shoreham past Falmer and on towards Lewes, carrying university traffic, airport-bound cars and freight together. Speeds are high, junctions widely spaced and refuge patchy, so a fault that would be a nuisance in town becomes urgent out there. Operators use the Falmer, Coldean and Southwick junctions as rendezvous points where a limping car can leave the trunk road safely.
Pay-and-display bays along the coast road fill from spring onwards, and Madeira Drive shuts completely for car runs, marathons and event weekends. Cars parked facing the sea take salt spray all year, which does terminals and earth points no favours at all. When the coast road is closed, the operator picks a meeting point on the streets above and brings the car out on the bed once stewards allow access.
The Marina sits below the chalk cliff, reached by a steep ramped access road and ringed with multi-storey decks carrying height barriers. A car that dies down there cannot simply be lifted from where it stands: the operator works to the barrier line, brings equipment to the bay and either revives the vehicle or rolls it out to a loading point. Tell us the deck level and bay number when booking.
The Lewes Road spine towards the two universities is lined with shared houses whose cars sit untouched for weeks on end. Batteries drain, tyres soften and the entire street tries to leave at once when term finishes. Bevendean and Moulsecoomb add steep side roads and tight turning heads to the mix, so crews plan the exit route before committing a truck to a cul-de-sac they cannot reverse out of.
Almost all of central Brighton and Hove sits inside controlled parking zones, and the pedestrianised Lanes and North Laine loading windows leave very little kerb a truck may legally occupy. Operators know which side streets tolerate a flatbed for the ten minutes a lift takes and which produce a ticket immediately. Precise location details in the booking make the difference between a clean pickup and a lap of the one-way.
Running west from Brunswick, the wide Regency squares give way to the tighter Victorian streets of Hove and Portslade, where basement flats, resident permits and school-run congestion compete for the same road space. The Old Shoreham Road and New Church Road carry the through traffic, and a breakdown on either backs up quickly. Crews approaching from the Shoreham side often reach BN3 and BN41 faster than a run through the centre.
Independent garages cluster around Portslade, Hollingdean and the Lewes Road arches, main dealers sit along the coastal corridors, and a fair number of jobs finish right outside the owner's own front door. The standard tow rate holds for anywhere within 25 miles, taking in Lewes, Shoreham, Worthing and Newhaven. The run up to London or west past Chichester is quoted as a single long-distance total, settled before loading begins.
